1972 Canada Silver Dollar Voyager SP-67 (Beautifully Toned)

The 1972 issue was the last year the Royal Canadian Mint struck the Voyageur dollar with silver content. The reverse displays the iconic design by Emanuel Hahn, depicting a voyageur and an Indigenous person paddling a birch-bark canoe, with the northern lights in the background.

This design first appeared on Canadian silver dollars in 1935, and holds a significant place in Canadian numismatic and cultural history. This example displays beautiful toning, and would make an excellent addition to any collection.

The coin is made of 50% silver and 50% copper. A limited number of coins designated as Specimen coins (SP) were originally sold in special sets for collectors and have a mirror-like field with a matte design. They were typically sold in original mint packaging, which can include a black clamshell case.

The coin being offered here is professionally graded by PCGS as SP67. Specimen coins with attractive toning like this coin can sell for up to $269.99 or higher.
